I believe to attain an overall lifetime of “total health” is to first ask my clients about their daily behaviors and lifestyles. There is no magic pill or diet…it first has to become a mindset and then your heart has to be in it, and last your stomach. What this all means is that you have to be willing to commit by focusing and then the rest will follow with discipline and lots of hard work.
Ladies…it’s not all about being skinny. It’s about making you feel better about yourself both mentally and physically. Just being the best you. My promise to you as your trainer will be to totally commit to your success. If you commit to yourself you will see things change in your energy, cardiovascular health, mental health and nutritional health.
Workouts are tailored to your needs which will include cardio, balance, strength, flexibility, yoga, pilates, boxing and your own body resistance.

I am a 69 year old female that was 15 pounds overweight. My health was relatively good, but the signs of old age and inactivity were beginning to show up. I had bursitis in my left hip and arthritis in my left foot. I was beginning to have difficulty climbing the stairs. I was feeling old – very old. And, I knew it was only going to go downhill from there.
A year ago Christmas (2010), my children gave me 12 – 30 minute sessions with a Personal Trainer (Donna Baker, Lumina Fitness) as a gift. My thought when I opened it was “oh God; now I will have to get myself off the sofa”! It took me a month to make an appointment. But, it got me “started”!
I am now a year into a twice a week, 30 minute session with my trainer and I have added a mile – oftentimes two mile walk around my lake daily. I have spent ten months in Weight Watchers and have lost 13 pounds.
I feel better than I have in a very long time. I am stronger than that first day I showed up at the gym. The stairs no longer present a challenge and I get excited when I lift a weight and realize that it no longer feels as heavy as it did before!
When you think about the many movements you make in your normal day such as carrying in groceries, getting into and out of the bathtub, squatting down to clean a cat’s litter box or making your bed, you are very aware that these movements cannot be taken for granted. The natural aging process weakens your muscles, but the good news is that we can renew and rebuild these muscles. And, it doesn’t take much time or money!
I will be 70 years old this year and I plan on walking/climbing/lifting my way into my 90′s.
